Happy Summer!  Below is a list of the summer assignments you need to work on through out the summer.  Please do not spend more than 60 minutes at a time working on an assignment.  It is better to come back and take a break.  These assignments are in the Algebra 1 textbook you will be using this fall.

When completing your assignments please do the following:

1.     * Write the lesson number on the top of your notebook page.

2.     * Write the textbook page number next to the lesson number.

3.     * Write the problem , SHOW ALL WORK, and your solution.

4.    * Check your answers in the back of the textbook and circle any problems you had difficulty understanding.

5.     * Don't spend more than 45-60 minutes at any particular time. If it is taking you longer, take a break than go back to it another time.

8.  Lesson 2-9:  Percents, page 136-137:  Numbers 15-53 odd.

You can skip lesson 2-10 since we did not learn about Simple Interest, but you are welcome to try it.

9.  Lesson 2-11:  Percent Increase and Decrease:  page 147:  1-35 odd.

Homework for May 2015

5/28  Begin your study guide for the final. Complete at least the first page tonight.  Final is on Tuesday June 2

5/27: Complete the green and blue pages in the percent packet.

5/26:  Finish the yellow pages in the percent packet.

5/22: Page 329:  #4-6 all, page 333: 1-13 odd

5/21:  complete page 321: 1-11 all

5/20:  Complete the probability handout in class.  Both sides.  (Use the die from class and the interactive spinner link)

5/19:  Look over the lesson on Probability in your textbook. Lesson 6.7 , and complete the worksheet from class.

5/18:  Complete the worksheet from class on scale drawings.  (it says lesson 8.6 on the top).

5/15:  complete number 20, and 21 on page 108 in packet.  Complete the worksheet for practice A for lesson 6.5.

5/14:  Practice B for lesson 6.4  Similarity and congruence.  Test corrections due Monday.

5/13:  Solving proportions using cross products.  Complete p 2 in packet, and page 106.  (all)

5/12:  Complete the front page of the packet, all the odds.  Solving proportions using cross products.

5/11:  Complete the chart for "Time of your life" that we started in class.  Complete the practice worksheet for 6.2 you were supposed to do for today if you didn't already do it.  (Do all the word problems).

5/7:  In packet on Ratios and proportions:  Complete the last page:  Odds only:  and calculate the amount of time it takes you to Eat, sleep, "work", and screen time per day.  (Don't do the rest of the packet, we'll do it in class.)

5/2:  Read notes for lesson 6.1 :  Page 278-279.  #10-36 even

5/1  Finish the practice quizzes I gave in class to help you study for your ch 5 test on Tuesday.  It would be to your best interest to complete chapter review problems at the end of chapter 5.

April 2015  Happy Spring!

4/30:  Complete Practice test for chapter 5:  page 268:  1-31 odd. I will move the test to Tuesday to give your more time to practice.

4/29:  Lesson 5.6  p 255-256: 11-31 odd  (if you didn't do yesterday's homework, do that too.) Page 252D (1-9)and the Graham cracker problem.

4/28:  Finish the cracker problem from class, and page 252D:  Reasonableness of answers:  1-9 all. (Test Friday!)

4/27 Lesson 5.5: Dividing Fractions:  p 251:  1-27 odd.  Then eat a cupcake.  Chapter 5 test on Friday (on 5.1-5.6).  Make sure you have done a re-take on your Aleks quiz to get a better grade.

4/24:  Lesson 5.4:  p 244:  9-19 odd  (only 6 problems...you can do it! )  Have a super weekend!

4/22:  Mid Chapter quiz reiew:  page 240:  1-25 all  Tomorrow, we are taking an Aleks quiz in class.

4/21:  Lesson 5-2: p 231-232:  1-27 all.

4/20  Lesson 5-1  P 224-225:  21-59 odd.    Make corrections to your quiz.

4/13  Complete pre-test for chapter 5.  Aleks assignment due Wed.

    10/30  Complete the cube packet.   Make the "cube"  "not cube"  on graph paper,  look for patterns!  The idea of putting the net pictures on graph paper is to help you notice patterns!  Use these observations to answer the questions in full sentences.  Use the nets you made yesterday to complete the last page:  determine which will fold into a cube and which will not.

    10/29: Make the nets of the cubes on the handout I gave in class. If the net can fold into a cube, write on your handout "cube." If not, write "not cube."

    9/16:  Work on finding pictures from the list of terms for your geometry dictionary

    9/15  Happy Monday:  Quiz on Lessons 10.1-10.4, to study, go to the classzone.com link, and complete the section quizzes for each section, take a picture of the page after you clicked on "submit for grading" and send one e-mail to me with all four quizzes on it.  Have a good night!

    9/9:  Lesson 10.2 Special Pairs of Angles (packet):  p518-520:  1-17 all, 19-27 odd.    I will be doing a notebook check on Friday.  Make sure your notes have the vocabulary words from each lesson with a diagram and definition.  There will be a  short quiz on Monday on Lessons 10.1-10.4 .  (We will be going over lessons 10.3 and 10.4 this week).

    9/8:  Geometry packet: p 513-514:  1-22 all, 23, 25.  Finish project

    9/5  Work on your project and have a rough copy ready for me to review on Monday.  Have a nice weekend!
